Real-time automatic position plotting – Even if you already have a dedicated chart plotter on board you will appreciate the benefits of having accurate real-time automatic position plotting using digital versions of the world's best charts. Particularly useful when shorthanded, digital chart plotting programs take your vessel's position from a handheld or fixed GPS (or a networked instrument system), showing you where you are, where you have been and where you are going. Quality
Each ARCS chart is an exact raster (digital scanned) copy of the original paper chart. They have the same colour scheme, the same range of scales, even the same numbering system as the Admiralty Standard Nautical Charts, trusted by the World's navies, merchant fleets and fishermen

• ARCS is available in two varieties, Skipper and Navigator. ARCS Navigator combines the chart with a weekly updating service and is intended for commercial navigators. Skipper is the lower cost service aimed at yachtsmen, where updates may be purchased separately to the chart, either quarterly or on an ad-hoc annual basis


• ARCS Skipper charts include datum information, so these important shifts can be applied automatically


• Charts are sold fully up-to-date on reliable CD-ROMs, and then installed onto your PC's hard disk for convenient and fast access

Worldwide coverage comprises over 3,300 individual charts, including smaller-scale overview charts and larger scale coverage for passagemaking, pilotage and harbour work

• Buy your ARCS Skipper charts individually once you have chosen an extra-value folio to cover your boating area (see the listings on the following pages). You can buy additional charts individually and if we don't have a folio that suits your needs, you can even create your own customised folio.
  
  
• To run ARCS Skipper charts on your PC you can choose from charting programs from over 40 different manufacturers. Separating the charts from the program in this way gives you access to a huge choice of features, from low-cost planning-only systems, right through to the grand-prix performance programs used by ocean racers
  
  
• And if you change your charting program, you can transfer your ARCS Skipper charts to the new one**.
